Brooke Estates on Park Avenue in Highland Park consists of four buildings complete with a gatehouse, landscaped grounds, two outdoor ponds, two swimming pools and indoor underground parking for residents. The buildings may have been constructed in the late 1960s to 1970, but the condos have been well maintained and most have some major updates. Brook Estates is also close to the Highland Park Health Facility, which is a great convenience because it has an indoor pool, indoor walking area and fitness area.
A typical two bedroom, two bath condo here will run from the $290,000s and up. As part of the many updates on these units, a lot of the kitchens have new tile flooring, new cabinets installed and glossy granite counter tops and tile backsplashes. Newer energy efficient appliances are also installed, as well as laundry rooms with washer and dryer units.
The bedrooms are roomy and the closets have plenty of storage space. New carpeting has been laid in many units and new shelving in many of the closets. The baths have also had a facelift with new tile, fixtures and in some cases Jacuzzi tubs and separate showers. Heating is gas forced air, central air conditioning is installed and assessment fees cover water, parking, insurance, trash pick up and pool use.

The Rowhomes at Laurel Park are some of Highland Park’s trendier residences. When finished this development will have 12 condos and 30 row homes in prices ranging from about $900,000 to nearly $1.5 million. The homes are designed with the ultimate comfort and luxury of the buyer in mind.
A typical three bedroom, three bath residence with attached two car garage has around 3,000 square feet of space. The homes come with from two to four bedrooms and footage from 2,966 to 5,398 square feet. Standard features in the three story homes include a whirlpool in the master bath, separate shower and double sink. The kitchen has an island that is handy for extra seating, food prep for a big meal or just having a cup of coffee in the morning. There is a butler pantry and a linen or closet pantry for some serious storage room. The laundry room is located on the second floor and also gives plenty of room for washing clothes.
