One of the most anticipated new condo developments in Highland Park is the Arbors by Optima. Situated downtown on Walnut and Second Streets, these condos offer the best of both worlds with a secure, peaceful location yet within walking distance of the city’s shopping and restaurants.
Standing at five stories, the Arbors measures up with high quality individual home finishes as well as building services and amenities that you might expect from a bigger development. With two bedrooms and two baths, these units contain individual balconies or patios which are perfect for outdoor relaxation. The living room features a gas fireplace that makes even chilly evenings cozy. The kitchen layout is a dine-in, complete with granite counter tops. Depending on your personal needs and design choices, there is designated space available that can be customized as a den, dining room, library or home office, whichever you prefer, plus unit laundry rooms. Of course energy efficient heating and air conditioning is standard in the condos, along with an intercom entry system for security.
Building features include two elevators, heated indoor garage parking for residents, assigned storage space on the lower level as well as an indoor swimming pool and fitness center.
Prices for the condos at the Arbors start from the upper $300,000 range.

With Phase I construction slated for completion this summer, Laurel Park Row Homes will have 18 of the planned 42 homes ready for occupancy. This planned community will consist of 30 rowhomes and 12 lavishly designed condos, all featuring some really fabulous details.
The Rowhomes will have from three to four floors and access to every level is made easy with electric elevators. The master bedroom suites have both a walk-in closet and linen closet. Stone trimmed fireplaces are also common on the upper levels, along with a second laundry. Terraces come ready for summer cookouts with gas grill hook ups installed.
The chef’s kitchens have a high end appliance package plus a butler’s pantry and island for extra seating or cook space. Developer Metropolitan Enterprises is offering buyers an unbelievable choice of finishes for the kitchen, like 50 different cabinet styles in 12 wood varieties and the option to pick which kind of granite tops the counters. As for tile, the 500 marble types should have a winner.
Brazilian cherry hardwood covers many of the floors, the entire home is wired for security, sprinkler systems are installed, there is a roomy two car garage attached to each home, and the front yards are fenced in, which is great for children or pets.
The location is prime, with the shopping, entertainment and restaurant center of the city only a couple of blocks away. Metropolitan Enterprises is even rejuvenating a city park next to the development.
These homes have 2 to 4 bedrooms, 2.5 to 3.5 baths, 2,966 to 5,398 square feet and are priced between $895,000 and $1.5 million.
