Condominiums are the new home wave of the future. They are a great way to reduce the high cost of living in high income development areas while also arranging deep community ties. Many people don’t consider the fact that a condominium building can offer a small community within a community. Your neighbors are in the same building and security is absolute. The building structures are built with care and offer many amenities that are difficult on the pockets when buying traditional family homes.
New in the Highland Park area, a massive historic building refinished and converted to condominiums, located at 174 Leonard Wood. Home buyers can look forward to great cash back incentives on these homes. Lake Michigan is within walking distance, units feature all hardwood floors and high ceilings. Furnishings and trims like marble encased fireplace and granite countertops make these units a steal at around $430K.
Take a look at this gorgeous building.

Sixth-grade students at Elm Place Middle School in Highland Park have undergone a 12-week program called Chicagoland Memory Bridge Initiative, allowing them to work closely with people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementia. The students are working with residents of The Ponds in Lincolnshire, and are learning about the disease and its effects.
Usually, participants in the Memory Bridge program are high school students. This is what makes the sixth-graders participation so unique. Of the nine students, each and every one of them must learn memory triggers and learn how to communicate with their buddies they are paired with. The commitment is no easy commitment, as every student must attend every meeting scheduled. The students’ commitment came as a schock to the program’s coordinator.
The students will work on their own to create the “Buddy Project” in which a scrapbook is compiled and presented to the buddy based on the time spent together and the memories shared.
The kids seem to enjoy the time spent with their buddies, and the buddies definitely enjoy the time spent with their new young friends.
