It’s a pretty new store they opened for business on March 13 this year. With a selection of over 2,500 wines, 1,000 types of liquor and 300 beers, you really don’t need to go anywhere else for booze in Highland Park. The atmosphere in this place is incredible: there’s even a lounge area, complete with wine samplings, gourmet food, and large-screen televisions. Also check out the wine education center and demonstration kitchen this place would be a great venue for business meetings or private soirees. Sam’s also provides catering options and free glassware rentals. Delivery is also available. Sam’s takes all the major credit cards and provides free parking for patrons.

I was told about Caf Mimosa by a friend of mine who lives in Highland Park. I suggest you check it out.
A great night out! It’s great that someone has such fresh and interesting foods at such high quality near us. The fish is always superb; the combinations mixed into each bite are the true secret to the divine flavors. The staff treats us like they’ve known us forever. The hostess and chef came over to speak with us and convinced us that the salmon pizza and the Mimosa Salad (or Pear Salad) were the ways to go for openers. The wine list is very extensive.
Overall, Eclectic French and Italian cuisine is served in a tasteful atmosphere–tile floor, peachy beige walls, alabaster-look ceiling fixtures, white tablecloths, fresh flowers, and posters advertising French wines. A loft area, available for private dining, has tables and two banquettes overlooking the main part of the restaurant. Appetizers include asparagus with tomato relish and gorgonzola, woodland mushroom fricassee with creamy polenta and fresh rosemary, and the Carpaccio Casa served with lemon and truffle oil.
-Walk in the park for Marlins
Cubs reliever Scott Williamson called out first-base umpire Bruce Froemming for lacking in the social graces, a rather soft retort to lob at one of the impervious men in blue.

Michael’s Chicago Style Red Hots is located at 1879 Second St. What I’ve come to appreciate, after eating the burgers and cheese fries here is the depth of the menu: they make some of the meanest falafel sandwiches and one of the best Chinese chicken salads this side of Chicago.
Michael’s started out as a small hot dog stand in the late ’70s and grew and grew. It’s safe to expect a line at lunch. Decor is ’50s-esque. One wall is filled with photos of customers. Beyond the basics, the menu offers falafel, yellow fin tuna sandwich, and–from the salad bar–hearts of palm, egg whites, jicama and roasted red peppers. This may be the only dog-’n'-burger place with a menu evaluated by a registered dietitian.
The salad is indescribably good–chunky, crisp and ridiculously tasty. They have great grilled chicken sandwiches and veggie burgers here, too; it’s the difference between caring about the healthy side of the menu and throwing it on just because. And that’s worth the extra dollar or two compared to a Dear Franks or a Louie’s.
-Big Chicago art fair up in the air
Art Chicago, an annual fair where millions of dollars of art is sold to collectors from around the world, is in disarray just days before it was to open in Grant Park.
